What to Expect — After Your Treatment

Here’s what to expect with a labia majoraplasty in Northern California. —
Women should expect the recovery from a labia majoraplasty to take from 1 – 2 weeks. Swelling is expected, and some patients may experience bruising and mild discomfort. These symptoms should improve dramatically over the first 5 – 7 days. However, residual swelling can last for six months or longer.
If needed, prescription medication can be prescribed for pain; however, many women find over-the-counter pain relief to be adequate. Intermittent ice packs used 20 minutes ‘on’ and 20 minutes ‘off’ can be useful to reduce swelling as is keeping the bottom elevated when lying down. A surgical garment may be recommended to keep swelling down, as well.
