Learn more about who is an ideal candidate for tuberous breast correction in Northern California.

Every woman has a unique vision of what she wants from her tuberous breast correction surgery. That’s why Dr. CanalesDr. Furnas, or Dr. Culbertson take their time to learn about each woman’s specific goals so they understand the look they want to achieve. We then create a customized plan tailored to the woman’s anatomy, aesthetic preferences, and special concerns. Ideal candidates are generally in overall good health and are past childbearing and breastfeeding.

How It Works

Surgical Technique

Discover more about our correction technique.

The purpose of the surgery is to reshape tuberous breasts, which usually have a narrow base with breast tissue that may appear constricted. The areola and sometimes the nipple is very large, and the area where the breast is attached to the chest wall (the inframammary fold) is exceptionally high. A nipple that protrudes or an inverted nipple that points inward can also be corrected, usually as an isolated procedure under local anesthesia. Tuberous breast correction is typically performed under a light general anesthesia. We will make an internal incision to release the tight breast tissues, making a larger space for an implant, rounding out the lower breast crease, and correcting enlarged and protruding areola and nipples.

What to Expect

Here’s what to expect with a correction procedure.

After the Treatment

Most women can return to their regular routines within 1 – 2 weeks. Some women are ready to return to work in just a few days. Results provide attractively shaped, natural-looking breasts, areolas, and nipples that are beautifully proportioned and the correct size for the individual woman’s anatomy.

Results

In some severe tuberous breast deformities, the results will be a much improved breast shape but we may not be able to give you the perfect breast. Our doctors will review what realistic expectations you can have given your particular anatomy.
