Learn more about how non-surgical skin tightening in Northern California can help you look and feel your best.
If your skin is not as toned and tight as you want it to be, Allegro MedSpa of Santa Rosa can help to improve its laxity with Ultherapy, non-surgical intervention for loose facial, neck, and chest skin.
With approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Ultherapy’s ultrasound energy can increase the laxity of your skin in a fast, easy treatment session.
After your treatment and as your skin begins to heal itself, your body naturally creates more collagen to repair the skin. Our aesthetic professionals are proud to offer Ultherapy to Santa Rosa, California patients. This procedure can be done in combination with other rejuvenating skin services, such as laser skin resurfacing or an injectable to leave the skin looking softer and younger.
Who Should Get Ultherapy
Both men and women can benefit from Ultherapy in Northern California.
If you are beginning to notice that your facial skin has become less firm with mild to moderate wrinkles (in the areas around the brow, eyes, and mouth), or you are noticing a slight droop in the jowls, you may be a good candidate for Ultherapy treatments. If you have more developed sagging or deeper lines and wrinkles, a facelift with surgery may be a more suitable procedure for you.
How it works

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be asked to get comfortable in our minor procedures room where one of our professionals will prepare your treatment area, which may include the application of a local anesthetic. In the session, a handheld device that uses ultrasound energy waves will glide over your skin. Depending on the number of areas you are having treated, your sessions may last an average of 30 – 90 minutes. It is typical for your skin to look somewhat pink and inflamed. You can use cold compresses and take over-the-counter pain medication to reduce any pain and inflammation. You may apply makeup after your session and get back to your daily activities.
What to Expect

What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a safe, non-invasive ultrasound treatment that is used to lift and tighten the skin of the lower face, chin, and neck. It is also FDA cleared to elevate the brow and improve lines and wrinkles of the chest. It uses focused ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen generation and skin tightening in these areas.
Can Ultherapy replace a facelift?
Ultherapy is an excellent non-invasive treatment, but it cannot duplicate the results of a facelift. However, many patients do not want surgery and are looking for a gradual natural improvement. Ulthera can be used to delay the need for a facelift and it can also be used for those who have already had a facelift, and who want more improvement without the need for further surgery.
How long does an Ultherapy treatment take?
The length of treatment depends on the areas being addressed. Treatment of the brows takes only 15 minutes, while a full face and neck treatment can take up to 90 minutes.
How much downtime is there?
There is no downtime with Ultherapy. You can resume your normal routines and you can apply makeup right after your treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
Each patient’s response to Ultherapy is different. The vast majority of patients only need one treatment, but some may need a second treatment for optimal outcome. We will review your individual anatomy and goals at your consultation.
Is Ultherapy safe?
The FDA-cleared Ultherapy procedure has been used safely in over 150,000 treatments.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects are mild redness, mild swelling and mild bruising. Some tingling and tenderness may last a few days to a few weeks. A very rare inflammation of nerves around the mouth or brow could occur leading to temporary muscle weakness. Loss of fat in treated areas is extremely rare.
Do I need to be medicated for the procedure?
Most patients are comfortable with Ibuprofen, while some elect to have ProNox, which is a Nitrous Oxide supplement. Sometimes mild oral sedation is needed. We will review your options at consultation so we can make the procedure as comfortable as possible. A recent software upgrade called “Ultherapy Amplify” now affords a comfortable procedure.
Who should not be treated with Ultherapy?
You should not have Ulthera if you are pregnant or are actively breastfeeding. If you have a bleeding disorder, an autoimmune disease or connective tissue disorder you should not have Ulthera. Finally if you have implants in the area of treatment, cystic acne or any open wounds you should not have Ulthera.
