About Clitoral Hood Reduction
About clitoral hood reduction in Northern California.
The clitoris is a small, sensitive organ that is responsible for sexual pleasure. This part of the female genitalia is surrounded by a fold of skin called the clitoral hood.

A clitoral hood reduction or clitoroplasty is a cosmetic surgery that recontours or improves the appearance of a woman’s clitoris. This procedure can be performed for both aesthetic and medical reasons and is usually performed in conjunction with labiaplasty or vaginoplasty. Here’s a look at the ideal candidate for a clitoral hood reduction in Northern California.
When performed as a medical treatment, it rejuvenates the appearance of the clitoris following trauma or injury. It is also included as part of the treatment for some congenital disorders affecting the female genital area. You are a good candidate for this procedure if you:
- Feel self-conscious that your clitoral hood skin is too long or large
- Have difficulty cleaning and maintaining hygiene because of a long clitoral hood
- Feel that the clitoral hood interferes with sexual stimulation
- Suffer from a medical condition, such as clitoromegaly or congenital adrenal hyperplasia
How it works
At the start of your procedure, Dr. Canales or Dr. Furnas will gently apply a topical anesthetic to the target area.
They will also inject a long-acting numbing formula in the vaginal area to provide extra comfort. From there, a V-wedge is made over the clitoral hood to carefully remove the skin. Absorbable sutures are then placed, and patients will be given specific aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing

From Our Clients
Outstanding staff. Absolutely loved dr Furnas. Great communication, great environment and atmosphere I can sit more comfortable. Easier to keep clean, also sex life is more comfortable.
My experience with PSA was wonderful. The staff is warm and inviting. And they all strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The office is clean and well kept as well. When i went to Dr. Furnas i was a little nervous due to the type of procedure i was having. I first saw her for labiaplasty, now if you know what labiaplasty is I’m sure you can see why i was nervous and a little embarrassed. But in my case i was to uncomfortable in that area not to see someone about it. Looking back on it now i really wish i had met and saw Dr. Furnas sooner. She made me feel safe and comfortable. And after the procedure was done i absolutely loved my results. i was able to finally be active comfortably. I had also undergone breast augmentation by Dr. furnas and was pleasantly please on the results of that as well. She is very professional and a true artist. i highly Recommend her.
Very informative and friendly staff
