Bandeau instructions after breast augmentation, Plastic Surgery Associates
After a breast augmentation, one or both breast implants can be pushed too high by firm skin, or by tight tissues. The breasts can be shaped by applying pressure with an elastic band, called a bandeau. The pressure from the elastic can stretch the tissues, allowing the implant to drop into a natural position.
If both implants are high the top of the bandeau should be placed above the top of the implants. The bandeau can be placed beneath or on top of your bra, or on top of a T-shirt or camisole. If both implants are too high, but one is higher than the other plays a roll of socks under the bandeau on the higher side. If only one implant is too high place the bandeau high over that implant, but under the other breast.
Wear the bandeau only until your implants are in good position. It is possible to drop one or both implants too low. Your surgeon can guide you.
