Why We Are Plastic Surgeons

Hi. I'm Dr. Heather Furnas. And I'm Dr. Paco Canales. As two board certified plastic surgeons, why do we enjoy what we do? In our experience, patients' concerns are rarely about vanity. Usually, they come in with a distraction or some type of discomfort, like hooding of the eyelids, hanging belly skin, heavy breasts, small breasts, or frown lines. Sometimes those changes give our patients the boost that changes their lives. Let's listen as two of our patients tell their stories and how surgery impacted them.

Yes, I am a woman. I didn't entirely feel that way. I looked in the mirror and it was okay, I look like a 12-year-old girl. It's like I'm 26 and I never progressed. And so now I feel whole. I've never felt more comfortable with myself.

I went from a double A to a D, and I'm absolutely happy with the results. I couldn't be happier. I've gotten nothing but compliments. They look absolutely natural. They fit my body. It's like a dream. It couldn't have gone better. In a lot of ways, it's not only boosted my confidence but made me feel comfortable.

And now, a breast reduction patient.

I have been fighting with neck, shoulder, and back problems for many years. Immediately was comfortable with the practice. I had the surgery done, and I am extremely happy with the results. I have no more neck and back problems. I feel like a weight has been lifted that I've had for 20, 30 years, and I just couldn't be happier.
