Here’s Who Is A Candidate For A Vaginoplasty In Northern California.

During a private consultation, we will decide if you are a good candidate for vaginoplasty. Your age, medical history, and aesthetic goals will be assessed and considered so that we can build your personalized treatment plan. You could be a candidate for a vaginoplasty if you:

  • Are interested in increasing your sexual satisfaction
  • Are seeking to restore your self-confidence and sexuality
  • Are intimidated by the thought of wearing tight clothing or bathing suits
  • Suffer from discomfort or soreness during sex or other sexual activity
  • Fear that your vaginal structure did not return to normal following the birth of your children
  • Feel you may have a larger than normal vaginal opening
  • Have more vaginal laxity than you would prefer
  • Would like to have an episiotomy repaired

How It Works

Surgical Technique

Vaginoplasty surgery in Northern California removes the loose vaginal tissue and strengthens the area’s muscle and soft tissue.

The procedure is typically completed as an outpatient procedure in an accredited surgical center under general anesthesia. The surgery begins with creating incisions in easily hidden areas on the sides of the vagina and gently pulling the muscle tissue under the skin. The vaginal opening will also be made smaller by removing a portion of vaginal lining known as mucosa. If you will be combining your vaginoplasty with a labiaplasty, we will begin that procedure following the vaginoplasty. At the conclusion of the surgery, we will carefully close the incisions for optimal results and small, discreet scars.

What to Expect

Here’s what to expect with your vaginoplasty in Northern California.

After your treatment

Patients can expect a bit of discomfort and tenderness after vaginoplasty. Swelling and bruising are also to be expected following the surgery. We recommend that patients do not engage in sexual intercourse, use tampons, or overexert themselves for about 4 – 6 weeks. In most situations, you can resume seated work after about a week and return to regular daily activities approximately three months following.

Results

After healing from the surgical procedure, you can expect a renewed vaginal opening that looks and feels slimmer and tighter. Some patients even experience increased friction and heightened sensitivity during intercourse.

FAQ

How much does vaginoplasty cost?

The cost of vaginoplasty will rely on the unique condition of the patient. The more complex or degree of deformity, the more expensive the surgery might be. The range is usually $6,000 – $10,000. During your private consultation, we will perform an exam and discuss your cosmetic goals to create a custom treatment plan. From there, we can review your costs and go over all your payment options.

How long will my results last?

Typically, the results of vaginoplasty will last for many years and most patients only undergo one vaginoplasty in their lifetime. It’s also important to maintain a healthy weight and to be past childbearing to maintain optimal results. As we age, our skin starts to relax, but it’s unusual for the vaginal area to relax to the degree it was prior to surgery.

Can I have children after my surgery?

Generally, yes. However, we highly recommend that you complete childbearing before receiving a vaginoplasty. If you want to have more children, we suggest you postpone your vaginoplasty as pregnancy can alter your results.

Risks of vaginoplasty?

With any surgery, there are risks, but the most common ones associated with vaginoplasty include bleeding, infection, and scarring. To put things in perspective, pregnancy involves far more risks than vaginoplasty.
