The chin implant is placed through the incision and positioned on top of the bone, directly below your lower lip. Sometimes the incision can be created inside the crease in the lower lip where it connects to your gumline.
Regardless, both help to conceal scars. Thin sutures are used to connect and close the incisions, and your chin will be wrapped with bandages. If you decide on a fat transfer for your augmentation, then the fat will be extracted from an area, such as the thighs or abdomen, purified, then injected into the chin to create your desired shape. It’s important to note that with this method, there will be two places that need healing: the injection sites and the area where fat was extracted.
